POSITION SUMMARY
This Intern will be a member of the Innovation Management team in Boulder, Colorado. They will be responsible for aiding the processes by which early stage R&D; investments are evaluated, prioritized, and selected. The incumbent for this position will work closely with senior R&D; engineers and be assigned tasks requiring him/her to function independently and within team settings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform literature deep dives to gain insight into surgical device markets and clinical spaces.
Assist in the development of business cases for early stage concepts.
Provide insight into the creation of strategic metrics for the characterization of opportunities.
Assist in collection / data management of strategic and financial metrics on R&D; projects across 3 classes of trade.
Utilize strategic road mapping and portfolio analysis tools to rank investments and opporutnities.
Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and presentations summarizing results.
Present to teammates at group meetings.
Execute plans and solutions under guidance of direct supervisor.
Adhere to safety policy and procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
Current undergraduate or graduate student pursing a major in Biomedical Engineering or related field.
Completion of 3rd year of undergraduate study preferred.
Preferred: business background / acumen
Understanding of strategic and financial elements of a project.
Understanding of key ROI measurements on an investment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both oral and written.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to stay focused and work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work.
