MRI/CT Technologist *$5000 Sign-on Bonus

Administers image scans on patients to produce quality images of designated areas of the body.
Operates an MRI and CT Siemens scanner, which takes several cross-sectional scans and combines them into one to form a 3-dimensional image that assists doctors in diagnosis and treatment of patients.
This position involves direct contact with patients, including interviewing them, explaining the scanning process and positioning them on the examining table.
Primary Job
Responsibilities:
1.
Perform MRI and CT procedures at a tech level in accordance with protocols2.
Maintain proper quality control procedures3.
Must have knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to MRI and CT exams and equipment4.
Establish and maintain effective working relationship with patients, medical staff and the public5.
Knowledge of concepts, standards, procedures and equipment6.
Maintain a safe and appropriate work area.
Maintain inventory of supplies.
7.
Adhere to employer work practices as described in TDC Occupational Exposure Plan8.
Knowledge of basic patient care and activities that may be necessary during exam9.
Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested10.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information11.
Work as a team member within the imaging department and all other departments12.
Document work processes as required13.
Perform other duties as assignedEducation:
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Radiology program required; current registration with the American Registry of Radiology Technologists (AART)(R)(CT)(MR)
Experience:
Minimum one (1) year experience in MRI/CT preferred, but will cross train the right candidate in CT.
Other Requirements:
Current CPR certification for Health Care ProvidersPerformance Requirements:
Knowledge:

Knowledge and understanding of clinical magnetic resonance imaging and CT principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment.

Knowledge of specifications, standards, and tolerances for the operation of MRI and CT equipment and facilitySkills:

Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures2.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills including the ability to manage interactions with difficult people.
Abilities:
1.
Ability to properly position patients to provide quality imaging.

Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
3.
Ability to operate high field clinical magnetic resonance imaging and CT scanner.
4.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, management and peers5.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environmentEquipment Operated:
Standard medical exam/office equipment including computerized health information management system for medical records.
3T Skyra MRI and CT Somatom equipment.
Work Environment:
This position works in the MRI and CT department in an orthopedic practice.

The position walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts and moves continually during working hours.
The position is subject to lifting objects weighing over 50 pounds, pushing wheel chairs, and transporting and supporting patients.
The employee must be constantly alert for patient safety.
