The Audio and Media Technologies Group (AMT) is at the center of audio, video and graphics support in Apple's innovative products, including the AirPods, HomePod, Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV.
The team is seeking an expert software engineer responsible for the development of time synchronization related drivers, frameworks and applications for the Mac, iOS, tvOS and visionOS hardware platforms.
You will work hand-in-hand with the Audio Design & Engineering Team, innovating in small groups with high initiative.
We're looking for a strong background in driver development, network protocols, and low level debugging.

In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of drivers, APIs and transport protocols for new hardware and software releases at Apple.
This role is perfect for someone who enjoys engaging at all layers of the software stack, from low level kernel drivers written in C++, to higher level APIs and frameworks written in Objective C or Swift.
It is an opportunity to make significant contributions to the core technologies that underpin many audio/video features at Apple such as AVB, PCIe audio, and future projects.
Some of the day to day responsibilities include:
- Design, develop and debug audio drivers, protocols and APIs - Driver bringup for new platforms and peripherals related to audio transport and synchronization - Participate in monitoring industry standards bodies and new specification development - Participate in medium and large scale software engineering processes Education & ExperienceEducation & Experience BS in Computer Science or Engineering (or equivalent experience) Additional RequirementsAdditional Requirements Pay & BenefitsPay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range.
This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
The base pay range for this role is between $124,600 and $230,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
