POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for the general well-being of the patient during the peri-operative period, acts as the patient advocate and works as a member of the surgical team, is knowledgeable in the areas of aseptic technique, infection control, emergency procedures, and general operating room procedures.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS Special Qualifications (Licensure, Registration, etc.
) Colorado RN license in good standing BLS certification required within conditional period.
Member of professional organization and CNOR preferred Knowledge, Skill and Ability Clinical competency with routine surgical skills in circulating with scrubbing preferred Demonstrates assessment and response to changes in the patient condition (basic understanding and integration of patient care and practice) Communicates clearly on all aspects of documentation Must be flexible to rotate shifts and adjust hours as needed Able to assess, treat and/or care for patients of all ages Demonstrates knowledge of preparation, maintenance, cleaning and usage of equipment Prepares specimens and lab forms for laboratory analysis Experience Minimum of one year OR circulating experience and scrub experience preferred ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Develops and implements a teaching plan based on identified patient and family needs.
Continues to expand knowledge base through clinical practice and self-directed learning, identifying own strengths and weaknesses.
Sets priorities utilizing effective time management when delivering patient care with completion of responsibility.
May be required to perform point of care testing.

Provides constructive input to problem solving in both patient and unit situations.
Consults with and/or advises appropriate personnel of situations requiring follow-up or attention.
Provides cost effective quality care.
Responsible for monitoring specific supplies and equipment in service.

Assists with data collection for QA/research activities.
