The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in service design, with a focus on developing high-level definitions, maps, and visualizations of key services. They will collaborate cross-functionally to identify technical systems, manual processes, and user needs, driving service improvements that enhance the overall user experience. Key
Responsibilities:
Lead the development of high-level definitions and maps of key services within the Public Services portfolio, illustrating how they relate and interact with each other. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify the technical systems and manual processes involved in service delivery, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the service ecosystem. Conduct user and stakeholder research using various methodologies such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and analytics to understand user needs, pain points, and preferences. Develop service blueprints, journey maps, and other design artifacts to visualize and communicate the service experience, effectively conveying insights and opportunities for improvement. Work closely with Product Managers to inform and influence product and portfolio strategy, ensuring alignment with user needs and service design principles. Synthesize and frame insights from user research and design activities for executive leadership audiences, effectively communicating the rationale behind design decisions and recommendations. Demonstrate the ability to quickly get up to speed in unfamiliar domain areas, leveraging prior experience and knowledge to drive impactful service design outcomes. Identify near-term priorities for service improvement based on user research findings and organizational objectives, effectively balancing short-term needs with long-term goals.
Qualifications:
Experience developing service blueprints, journey maps, and other design artifacts to visualize and communicate the service experience. Proven experience conducting user research across various methodologies, with a strong focus on understanding user needs and preferences. A robust portfolio showcasing successful service design projects and their impact on product or service design. Experience working collaboratively with Product Managers to inform product and portfolio strategy. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to executive leadership audiences. Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and making assessments and recommendations based on incomplete knowledge. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
