Must have skills:
Candidates must have prior experience defining the design, style, and method for delivering extendable, high-quality Puppet code that takes into account the future direction of Puppet. Must also have experience defining the integration of the definition of infrastructure within a deployment pipeline. Previous experience assisting team members in understanding and implementing the new practices is required. Experience with Unix operating system required. Candidates must also have experience using and administering a Software Configuration Management system such as CVS, AccuRev, and Git.
Nice to have:
Experience with using the Windows operating system. Knowledge of Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) best practices, software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, RUP). Experience building and deploying enterprise Java applications that have web server, Application Server, and database components.
Responsibilities:
Define the design, style, and method for delivering extendable, high-quality Puppet code that takes into account the future direction of Puppet Develop custom types by defining a type and provider Extend existing type by developing a new provider Define a method for testing a module as well as a strategy for testing the configuration of all nodes Define the integration of the definition of infrastructure within a deployment pipeline Assist our team members in understanding and implementing the new practices
Qualifications:
Experience with developing, testing, and documenting Puppet customer types and providers Experience using and administering a Software Configuration Management System such as CVS, AccuRev, and Git Experience with a UNIX operating system (Red Hat, CentOS) including the development of Shell Scripts Experience building and deploying enterprise Java applications that have web server, Application Server, and database components. Experience with using the Windows operating system Knowledge of Systems Engineering Lifecycle (SELC) best practices, software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, RUP), DevOps practices and the demands of a professional services organization
