IT Specialist, ZP-2210-3 (INFOSEC/NETWORK) (Direct Hire)

As an IT Specialist (INFOSEC/NETWORK), you will perform the following duties:
Develop and manage IT software development and provide expert technical advice, guidance, and apply new developments or applications to obscure, unusual or new problems. Communicate complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel and preparing and presenting briefings to senior management officials on complex and/or controversial issues. Perform a range of analysis and design tasks contributing to the development and compliancy of software applications and system architecture. Interact with other IT specialists in a team environment and integrate the work of others to ensure the continuity of ongoing systems initiatives. Responsible for overall project plans and accompanying schedules that include tasks, duration, dependencies, constraints, milestones, signoffs, go/no-go decision points, and contingency strategies. Monitor and report progress as well as consults with appropriate staff to facilitate project planning. IT Competencies:
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled. Experience:
Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.To qualify at the ZP-3 or GS-11 level:

Experience:
In addition to meeting the IT competencies above, applicants must also possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the ZP-2 or GS-09 in the Federal service. Specialized experience MUST include all of the following:
Reviewing proposed new systems, networks and software designs to ensure compliance with systems security standards; Providing customer support to resolve a variety of IT systems issues such as security and connectivity and analyzing reported incidents; and Participating in the development, testing, installation and support of new or existing software applications for a scientific environment. OR SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION:
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
