As an Office Manager in the Public Safety Communications Research Division (671) in CTL, acts as main point-of-contact for internal external and stakeholders. Provides assistance with a full range of secretarial, clerical, computer, and administrative management duties and responsibilities to ensure an efficient, effectively run organization. Scope of responsibility includes fiscal, procurement, personnel, time and attendance, travel, website and editorial tasks. Serves as program expert in Timekeeping, Procurement, and Travel System, Govt Purchase Cardholder. Works as part of a team to develop and implement ways to improve the work flow and services provided to internal and external customers. BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
1. One year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-4 (ZS-II for NIST) level. Specialized experience is defined as experience supporting all administrative areas such as travel, human resources, time and attendance, procurement, and customer service and related administrative areas. Experience managing electronic calendars, spreadsheets, database, automated communication, tracking systems, and other automated office tools to support management of daily operations as well as using PC or web-based applications (such as word processing, spreadsheets, and PDF software) to enter, monitor, and/or verify information regarding office operation. Experience providing administrative information to customers through different formats (such as phone, email, memorandums, and letters). OR 2. 4 years of education above high school OR 3. An equivalent combination of experience and/or post-high school education In addition to the above minimum qualification requirements, applicants must be able to type 40 wpm. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
